My name is Lisa Egyed, and I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life's challenges and helping them develop greater understanding, resilience, and well-being.
Originally from Germany, I spent my adult life in Ireland, where I worked as a social worker supporting foster families. Through this work, I gained valuable insight into the emotional difficulties, transitions, and challenges that can affect individuals, children, and families. These experiences deepened my understanding of the importance of compassionate support and meaningful human connection.
My decision to become a psychotherapist was shaped not only by my professional experience but also by my own personal journey. Through therapy, I experienced firsthand how healing, growth, and self-discovery can emerge within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I truly believe that it is through connection that we grow and develop as human beings. This belief is at the heart of my work with clients.
As a parent of a neurodivergent child, I also have personal insight into the unique joys and challenges that can come with parenting neurodivergent children. This experience inspired my research into how psychotherapy can support parents of children with ADHD. Through both my professional training and personal experience, I have developed a particular interest in supporting parents who are navigating the complexities of raising neurodivergent children. I understand how important it is for parents to have a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported.
